About

IIDA began as a shared creative outlet between long-time friends, Milena and Conny. After years of painting and creating together, we launched IIDA to bring our shared vision to life, merging our distinct tastes into one place.

We draw inspiration from anywhere and anything, translating the everyday into small batches of items designed in New Zealand.

The name IIDA honours Milena’s great-grandfather, Tatsuo Iida, a Japanese artist whose dedication to craft guides our work. Our designs sit between worlds: Milena is influenced by the precision of Japanese design and her Bulgarian roots, while Conny’s fine-arts background is shaped by her time in London, Hong Kong, and Boston.

Together, we explore how small details can become objects of adornment, turning everyday observations into wearable art.
